This requirement ensures regulatory compliance, prevents fraud, and protects the community.

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid government-issued ID from an eligible country
• Desktop computer with camera (or mobile device for document scanning)
• 5-10 minutes to complete the process

Step-by-Step KYC Process

Step 1: Access KYC Verification

1. Log into Alkimi Labs at labs.alkimi.org
2. Navigate to User → Personal Information
3. Click "Verify" to start the verification process
4. The Onfido verification window will open

Step 2: Select Your Country

1. Choose your country from the dropdown menu
2. Only countries listed are eligible
3. The system will show accepted document types for your country

Step 3: Choose Document Type

1. Select the ID document you'll be using
2. Ensure the document is valid (not expired)
3. The document must match the type you select

Step 4: Photograph Your Document

1. Follow on-screen instructions carefully
2. Ensure good lighting and a clear image
3. Capture the entire document with all corners visible
4. Avoid glare, shadows, or blur
5. Both sides of the document may be required

Step 5: Complete Liveness Check

1. Position your face in the frame as prompted
2. Slowly turn your head to each side as instructed
3. This step verifies you're not a bot
4. Follow all movement instructions precisely

Step 6: Submit Verification

1. Review all information for accuracy
2. Submit for processing
3. Typical processing time is minutes to a few hours
4. You'll receive email confirmation when approved

Common Rejection Reasons

Document issues

• Selected document type doesn't match uploaded document
• Document is expired or damaged
• Photo is blurry or has glare
• Document edges are cut off
• Wrong document for your country

Photo issues

• Image too dark or overexposed
• Document not fully visible
• Glare obscuring information
• Photo taken at an angle
• Document appears edited or altered

Liveness check failures

• Face not clearly visible
• Failed to follow movement instructions
• Multiple people in frame
• Poor lighting conditions
• Wearing accessories that obscure face

After Approval

• Full access to staking features is unlocked
• You can claim all eligible rewards
• No further verification is needed unless requested

Important Notes

• All users must complete new KYC with the updated provider
• Previous verifications from the old system are not valid
• KYC data is encrypted and securely stored
• Alkimi never shares your personal information
• Support cannot bypass KYC requirements
